Digestion and Appetite
Chives: Chives, chopped and sprinkled on food, are said
to aid digestion and stimulate appetite Coriander: Coriander's essential oils, high in vitamin C, potassium, geranial and linalool, may be added to ointments for relief of rheumatic joint and muscle pains.
These minerals also aid the circulatory system,
digestive system and is beneficial for the skin Coriander tea is
reportedly excellent for migraines and as a digestive tonic
and mild sedative.
Dill: Dill has a calming effect of the digestive system. It contains a volatile oil that relaxes muscles.
Gripe water, used for relieving colic in infants, contains dill seed. Dill contains vitamin C and flavonoids and is rich in minerals, particularly calcium.
One tablespoonful of dill seed contains as much calcium as 1/3 cup of milk.
For indigestion try infusing 13gm bruised seeds in a cup of boiling water.
Strain and take one tablespoonful.
Fennel: Fennel tea is known to relieve stomach upsets, abdominal cramps and colic.
It is used to promote digestion and stimulate the appetite
It is also used, mixed with to relieve symptoms of upper respiratory infections,
asthma and bronchitis.
Mint: Peppermint contains essential oils
widely used in medicines and spearmint has long been used in medicines.
It is reputedly beneficial for the digestive system. Parsley: Parsley has many health benefits. It is a nutritious food, providing dietary calcium, iron, carotenes, ascorbic acid, and vitamin A.1.It also contains vitamin C, potassium, folic and amino acid and is good for blood pressure, the heart and stomach, and for pain relief. Arthritic aches and pains are reputed to be relieved by taking parsley.
A tea made from parsley seeds is a traditional remedy for colic, indigestion, and intestinal gas.
Thyme is said to aid digestion
of fats, making it an excellent complement for any recipes using oils and fats
Sage: has proved to be beneficial
