Products containing Yohimbe have a wide market, from medically treated impotence and self-administered sexual enhancement to various herbal ecstasy formulas.
Yohimbe acts as a vasodilator, i.e. it has the effect of increasing blood supply. This property leads to its use in erectile dysfunction products
It has also been shown to decrease fat synthesis in the body by increasing fatty acid mobilization (causing weight loss).

Yohimbe / yohimbine are contraindicated in people with high blood pressure, heart problems, anxiety, and panic attacks, all of which can be made worse with adrenergic activity.
